ARM Environmental Services

Asbestos

Asbestos is one of the most well-known environmental health hazards in the workplace. Its use in new construction has been greatly restricted in the United States. ARM Environmental Services has extensive experience and credentials in asbestos inspection and abatement services.

Asbestos Identification

Chrysotile, or white asbestos, accounts for about 95 percent of the asbestos used in the United States. This form of asbestos was widely used in renovation until the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) began restricting its use in the late 1970s.

The EPA closely regulates the removal and disposal of asbestos in the United States, which is often necessary when preparing an old building for demolition or construction. A building that contains a large amount of asbestos often requires the contractor to carefully deconstruct and abate the building before it can be demolished.

ARM staff has all the training and licenses required by EPA and the states it works in to perform asbestos inspection and abatement services. These accreditations include the following:

Asbestos Identification
  • Asbestos Surveys
  • Asbestos Abatement (friable and non-friable)
  • Asbestos Abatement Project Design / Specifications
  • Asbestos Air Monitoring & Project Management
